RLDR Version Released

This has been sitting here all day ready to release but i had to work, just got off work so heres the release.


-Fixed exploit with characters that start with negative armor that has been in for ages

-Renamed most premade monsters except realmlings and shadow creatures

-Changed descriptions of some of the premade monsters slightly to be more vague and creepy

-Fixed typo in summon Mi-Ho Rune

-Fixed bug with manias

-Made manias happen slightly less often (i have had twice where i spiraled into insanity on the second level and that was way too much lol)

-Added new rune

-Fixed amnesia mania crash

Game should feel vaguely creepier now.

-Made it think harder about where to place things (shouldnt get items in doors anymore and other similar weirdness)

-Made it so that events can happen every 600 or so turns to encourage you to get out of the level you are in

-Every section now has a cult themed level (up to section 5)

-Added hints for win conditions

-Made realmling realm slightly less deadly and more filled with treasure.

-Made stun runes able to stun vermin to make them safe to pick up and walk over.

-Fixed bug with enemies stopping you from running that shouldnt.

-Added new mania

-Player character now has a different symbol and color.

RLDR Version Released


-Fixed crash with pushing destroyed statues, now you can push and move statues, doors, whatever you want with those runes. It doesn’t make much sense but it does fix the crash and allow you to progress when you otherwise couldn’t and it is fun. You can even push the stairs around. I’m not going to bother trying to justify that.

-Fixed crash when reading carriage of lost things (let me know if you run into any more of these weird crashes) Its just that the book was encoded wrong.

-Made the level not spawn 25 diary entries at a time.

-Fixed many, many color inconsistencies

-Changed many mania pop up colors

-Fixed a really irritating book related crash

-Added two more books and numbered and reworded the  Jdclhy  logs.

-Increased chance for  the  Jdclhy  logs. to appear on any given dungeon level.

-Randomized intro pop up slightly.

-Improved dungeon gen code (multi tile hallways are now a thing) and will make it more difficult to kite monsters and simply make the maps look nicer.

Future of RLDR and related games

Hey folks, its Untrustedlife here with a bit of a major update.

I have been working on RLDR on and off Since 2014, and I appreciate your current and future support and feedback, please don’t be afraid to give feedback as it has only helped the game.

On to the news!

Due to a new project of mine which I am very excited about i have been able to rework RLDR’s roadmap to be smaller, and to focus harder on specific features. The biggest change i need to talk about is the old plans for Demonic deals.

This is a good idea in prospect but I have decided to wrap that into a new system called the Ritual system. You can now find scattered bits of rituals and can perform them in “strange circles” now as of 0.2.1 . They require ingredients and specific circumstances (for example some rituals require you “purify” yourself by only performing them at full health, or that in order to activate it you must extract blood while standing on the circle and so on and so fourth). I didn’t announce this but it is in the game now. You can also meet great entities and have them do things to you and stuff aswell so that has pretty much replaced the concept of demonic deals with what i think is a more fun system.

Another big change is that i no longer plan on an open world.

This project will no longer be planned to be open world as my new project which is in the same universe is already open world and more suited towards that.(expect info on that soon) There are other things like the idea of a randomly chosen extinct race and such, which were completely pointless and also removed. Heres the new roadmap below:

-Made all  Dqelokzcln  associated monsters/level challenges all bright_red instead of dark_megenta (tumors are visible now)

This should make the game more playable for those who we having a hard time with the color combinations.

RLDR 0.2.1 Released!

So I decided to just release what i have now to get feedback and also so people have something fun to play with during our collective quarantine (game already plays much better than previous versions)
